Having grown up in Southern California, I never knew of a place where it was legal to drive your car on the beach. But here, during certain months of the year you can. So of course, even though the Ranger recommended only attempting it if I had a four-wheel drive, I just couldn't resist the temptation.

I had a blast in my little Dodge Caliber, driving up and down the beach. It was a Goonies moment that I just had to take.
